It is Company Policy that all Chesters Coach & Bus Hire drivers are trained and appropriately qualified in all aspects of P.C.V. driving regulations.
Safety
Our main priority is passenger safety. All coach & bus drivers are trained to ensure that there is no danger to either passengers or vehicles. In case of emergency or incident the driver will always provide emergency supplies which are located on every vehicle for fire and other safety hazards.
Vehicles
All Chesters Coach & Bus Hire vehicles are fitted with Seat Belts and fully maintained to the Vehicle and Operating Services Agency (V.O.S.A.) Standards.
Drivers
All members of Chesters Coaches staff are given an induction explaining all policies and procedures which also includes drivers hours and breaks. All drivers are CRB checked prior to their commence date.
Safety Management
The safety of all our passengers is of paramount importance. It is the prime objective of Chesters Coaches to carry all passengers in a safe environment as is physically possible. It is Chesters Coaches policy to make sure our drivers abide by the rules of the company.
Risk Assessment of all Journeys
We assess all journeys to be undertaken, in respect of location, the route taken and safe parking at the destination as to allow passengers safe access to and from the vehicle. A copy of our Risk Assesment and Safety Procedures is available on request.
School Trips
Prior to commencement of all journeys in accordance with E.E.C. regulations covering P.C.V. operation the driver will inform all group leaders, teachers, supervisors that the vehicle is fitted with seat belts and must be worn. Drivers will always provide help with first aid kits and fire extinguishers. It is laid down in E.C. law that all teachers, group leaders and supervisors of a children's party that it is their responsibility to ensure all children under the age of 16 are seat belted before the journey begins.
